Description

The serjeants-at-law are pictured in red robes sitting on a raised platform at the head of the court. Clerks wearing green, blue, and cream colored robes take notes of legal argument around a table. Most of these men were lawyers-in-training. Ushers armed with white staffs keep order in the court as cases are presented and heard by the judges.
