Description

Originally built in 200 C.E. by the Romans, sections of the London Wall still stand today. Under reign of the Plantagenets, the overall construction and maintenance of the wall improved and its height increased. Around the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the wall was no longer considered necessary for defense, and much of it was demolished. This section of the wall can be found near St. Paul's Cathedral.
